Semantic and Social Network Analysis of Social Media with NodeXL

Large volumes of social media content demand tools to better manage the flow. NodeXL implements a social and semantic network analysis application for end users that require no programming skills. Using the framework of a familiar spreadsheet, NodeXL allows users to extract collections of connections among social media users who are linked through patterns of reply, mention, or following relationships. These patterns often generate sub-groups and clusters of densely interconnected users. The text associated with these interactions is then be analyzed to contrast sub-groups in terms of their relative rates of word use, hashtags, and URLs.
